Course Description:

This course aims to help students practice reading and writing scientific English. The course also expands vocabulary through reading and writing. Students are expected to become aware of the formalities involved in scientific English. It prepares students to comprehend and use science material at an intermediate level.

Course outcome:

• Show comprehension of scientific passages and readiness to use science material at an intermediate level.
• Get involved in communicative activities and answers questions of a general nature.
• Read and get main ideas of texts, understand general and specific information and recognize contextual references.
• Develop the ability to use various rhetorical functions such as, classifying, defining, describing a process, comparing and contrasting in academic contexts
