Course Description:

Mathematics (2) is a course offered by the Department of Basic Sciences. It is a 2-credit-hour course conducted through 4 hours along 8 weeks. This course provides an intensive study on some topics that are useful for students. Emphasis is placed on many topics; specifically: Matrices, Trigonometry, and Introduction to Calculus (Limits, Continuity, Differentiation, and Integration).

Course outcome:

1. Evaluate trigonometric and inverse trigonometric functions, and graph trigonometric functions in rectangular form.
2. Solve trigonometric equations and use them to solve trigonometric problems.
3. Use trigonometric identities in simplifying and solving equations.
4. Apply the basic operations on matrices and compute product of matrices.
5. Find determinant and inverse of a matrix and use it to solve systems of equations .
6. Evaluate various limit problems both algebraically and graphically, and evaluate limits at infinity and infinite limits
7. Check the continuity of various types of functions,
8. Differentiate various types of functions using the differentiation rules.
9. Find antiderivative of a function, and integrate various functions using the various integration methods
